AMFC is a power only Club,  we are unable to provide facilities for gliders and free flight at this time.

The flying site is located at Stow Maries Aerodrome, formerly part of Flambards Farm,on a 65 acre field with an open aspect (no trees to jump out at the model!).

Flying at Anglia Model Flying Club is allowed seven days a week for power flying from a large square. There is a club tradition of NO FLYING on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. A separate Helicopter square is available for those of that persuasion. The heli group is a growing and active section of the Club.

The flying site, an ex-WW1 aerodrome, has a fascinating history which is told on the history page. At the moment the new owners are undertaking an ongoing restoration project for the whole aerodrome. One of the first priorities was to improve the drainage to enable fullsize aircraft to land and this means model flying can be undertaken all year round with no floods to interfer with your enjoyment even after the heaviest of downpours.

The BMFA achievement scheme is actively supported and all flying members must attain the A certificate if they are to fly unattended by an instructor or a certified member.

The Club holds regular meetings on the first Monday of each month from 8pm onwards at the South Woodham Village Hall.
